EMBEDDED HARDWARE DESIGN
Most things, widgets, circuits get lumped together into “embedded” design. We design all kinds of circuits from the size of a thumbnail to large telecom rack-sized boards. We offer a complete design solution including schematic capture, printed circuit layout, 3D mechanical modeling, and thermal analysis using CFD tools.
EMBEDDED FIRMWARE
Development of application and supervisory code for bare-metal systems that typically do not have an operating system. We use a mix of proprietary schedulers that have shipped with thousands of customer systems to off-the-shelf solutions such as ARM’s Mbed-OS and Free RTOS.
HIGH SPEED & HIGH FREQUENCY DESIGN
For us, the definition of high-speed keeps moving. Years ago 500 MHz designs were leading edge. Today we design circuits beyond 10 Gbps up to 112Gbps. We also do a significant amount of classic RF design including linear RF amplifiers, RF switching circuits, up-down converters.
Our experience includes recent design experience in E-band and W-band automotive radar (76GHz-81GHz).
PRINTED CIRCUIT LAYOUT
We perform printed circuit layout both standalone for customers wishing to do the front-end design themselves as well as customers desiring a true turn-key approach to design. We use Cadence Allegro and all designs are managed and executed by electrical engineers with deep industry knowledge in circuit materials, stackup designs, fabrication techniques, and circuit assembly. We have expert-level experience in multilayer circuit design and routing including blind, buried, microvia design including any-layer design.
POWER CONVERSION
Every product we design has some sort of power conversion need. Whether it a be an ultra low-power coin-cell operated device to low-voltage DC to high-voltage- AC or DC we do it.
Most of our design experience is with buck, boost, flyback, and linear power conversion in the 10W to 200W range. However we have designed 1000W+ AC and DC power conversion as well.
MIXED SIGNAL DESIGN
We do a wide mix of designs with analog and digital circuits. We have designed circuits with ADCs, signal conditioners, DACs, amplifiers, filters, and other types of circuits. These are almost always controlled by some digital system such as a microcontroller.
CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
Complete conceptual design including 3D mechanical in Solidworks and circuit design in Cadence Allegro. From our high-level concept we can look at potential issues before going into prototype. Also we take the concept and derive full cost estimation and schedules.
PRODUCT VALIDATION
Almost every design requires some sort of validation. Our specific experience is in compliance testing to FCC, CE, SAE, MIL standards for emissions and environmental. We also work very closely with several key test facilities located in the Dallas Fort-Worth area.

THERMAL ANALYSIS
We offer a range of thermal analyses for electronic systems such as heatsink design, forced-air cooling, radiative cooling, solar loading analyses.
We use Flow for Solidworks with the Electronics Cooling add-on which is a full CFD tool.
